Down South

We drove all the way to Albany instead. It took about six hours with two toilet breaks in between, travelling at 130km/hr at times, hehe. The weather was extremely erratic at times. Nonetheless, it was quite an enjoyable road trip, haven't had one like this in a long time since my family drove up to Malaysia when I was really young.

Day 1: Perth - Albany

On the Road

We saw about ten rainbows on this trip - thanks to the weather! This was the closest I've ever been with a rainbow. We came to the other end of it. It was simply spectacular!

The Whaling Station
Who knew that whaling was one of the first industries of Western Australia? This whaling station that we visited was the last one to close down in 1978. It was an economic decision to close it down due to the pressure from conservationists and the plummeting prices of whale oil due to the introduction of newly invented alternatives. The two species of whale that were targeted were the Humpback and Sperm whales.

Day 2: Pemberton - Perth

Perth City Dinner
